Northend United 1 Dungiven Celtic 0 Autumn Cup Final Saturday 50th November 2013

Yesterday was the U8s final games for 2013 and it seen both teams playing in the Autumn Cup finals. Northend United played Dungiven Celtic and lost 1-0 with the posts, keeper and goal line clearances keeping the young Northend United side out.

Northend Youth 0 Bertie Peacocks Youths 1 Autumn Shield Final Saturday 30th November 2013

Northend Youth played Bertie Peacocks in an exciting game. The defence of Devlin, Lyness and McAlister shut out any chances created and the best chance of the game fell to Daniel Patterson, after beating three defenders his shot was brilliantly saved. But the game was won in the last minute by Berties when a free kick was rattled into the roof of the Northend net.

This week saw both Northend U8s involved in small tournaments at Ballysally.

Northend United were paired against Bertie Peacocks, Roe Valley, Coleraine Academy and Institute.

Northend United 2 Roe Valley 5 Saturday 16th November 2013

This morning saw Northend United travel to Ballysally to play Roe Valley. This weeks games were 20 minutes a half compared to the blitz games last week. The young Northend side found themselves 4-1 down at half time, the goal coming from a great strike from Callum Burnside. Half time score 4-1

The second half was much better and the side made it 4-2 with Conan McKeown scoring direct from a corner. This seemed to spur on a very strong Roe Valley and they went up the field to score a 5th. Special mention goes to Paddy "the cat" Murphy in nets and Alex McPeake who were both outstanding. Final score 5-2

Northend Youth 11 Dungiven Celtic Colts 2 Saturday 16th November 2013

Northend Youth today were paired up against a young Dungiven Colts team and this showed in the score line with all outfield players getting on the score sheet to run out comfortable 11 -2 winners. Goals today from Daniel Patterson(5), PP Donegan, Callum Hendron, Lewis Devlin, Conlon Lyness, Kevin McAlister, Sean McDermott. Great win

Northend United Section 1 Mini Blitz Saturday 9th November 2013

Saturday 9th November saw Northend United and Northend Youth U8s travel to Ballysally to take part in two Mini Blitz tournaments against four other teams. Both teams played four games and battled from start to finish and were a real credit to the club.

In Section 1, Northend United U8s played against Bertie Peacocks, Institute, Roe Valley and Coleraine Academy.
